Eight years ago, a girl was stamping hands at the entrance of a basement show when she spotted a boy with a bass. She pointed him out to a friend and declared “I want that one.” On Saturday she finally got him for good. Marina + Matt tied the knot on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at the Highlands Country Club in Garrison, NY. They worked together to create a wedding with so many amazing touches that it felt more like a perfectly crafted styled shoot. They carried a Wes Anderson theme through their ceremony and reception, with compass seating cards a la Moonrise Kingdom, cake topper figures from Fantastic Mr. Fox and even pastries reminiscent of Grand Budapest Hotel. Their wedding perfectly showcased what they love, including a walk down the aisle to the same Murder by Death song that Matt had a line from (“It was always you.”) engraved into his wedding band and a surprise groom’s cake featuring Frankenstein.
